A Modern Guide
to Dating

A colorful, awkward piece about two matter-of-fact young professionals uncertain and unsure how to find love. Required to bare their hearts to each other, the two learn that dating doesn't have to be scary — but it does require you to take the first step.

Filmed over three days across three distinct Arizona locations, this romantic comedy became the first film produced under the Stalled Productions banner and the centerpiece of its inaugural showcase.

The First Showcase

What started as a premiere became something much bigger. The first Stalled Short Film Showcase brought together 12 independently made short films from across Arizona under one roof — merging the filmmaking community with the general public.

Over 150 people filled Pollack Cinemas in May 2024 to watch, celebrate, and connect. A Modern Guide to Dating made its world premiere that night as the closing film.
